I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July....I'd love to hear your travels and or experiences!
I had a wonderful fourth of July, spending time with family, great food, beautiful fireworks and an awesome 8 month anniversary with Michael.
Michael arrived at my house in the morning so we could start our anniversary off with a lovely breakfast at Overboard Inn, in Twin Lake MI.
OF COURSE THE 4TH PLAYED PART IN MY OUTFIT FOR THE DAY:
For the 3RD, I had my pre 4th outfit on, to get started on the celebration of Independence Day a little early.
Mom and Ihemp necklace, DG sunglasses and BKL fedora
Converse high tops... fun holiday colors :)
foldable backpack from Mexico with a beautiful pattern. Folds into a small circular bag, easy to store....I kind of wore it out, needs some stitching.
THE FOURTH:
Patriotic converse....one of my favorite pairs.
After breakfast, Michael brought me to a place called, shrine of the pines, for our anniversary, located in Baldwin MI.
If you have never been there before... you NEED to go! This place is so awesome, check out the website, http://www.michigan.org/property/the-shrine-of-the-pines/
Here are some pictures of our adventure:
A spooky coffin setting against a tree out in the woods on one of their trails
I didn't want to leave this place because it was so beautiful, so peaceful, so stellar.....but, it was time to leave and get on with the day....still a lot more to do!
On the way back to go celebrate with family, we stopped at a few yard sales and also, stopped for a bite to eat. We stopped at Sally's, in White Cloud MI, just to grab something to hold us over before we got to my parents. We each had the salad bar, which was loaded with lots of delicious soups, pasta salads, fruits and veggies to add to your salad and the BEST PUMPKIN BREAD I have EVER had! Michael and I like it so much, we got a loaf to go! We found a couple good items at the yard sales we stopped at along the way like, some old picture frames, nature magnets for Michael's refrigerator and these adorable (set of 3) leaf wall hangers.
We had a cook out at my parent's house, which was amazing. However, I will say, the dessert was the best part....it was out of this world! Then we had fun messing around the yard with fireworks.
It was a beautiful day for the holiday
Once it started to get dark, Michael and I walked down to the beach to catch the big fireworks!
We found the best spot on the beach to watch the fireworks :)
Right before the big fireworks went off, people were setting off floating fire lanterns around the whole lake. They were absolutely beautiful; like, thousands of stars in the sky.
What a blast...literally! :)
