FULL MOON

Full moon

So, I know this post is a little late but, I wanted to share some of the photos I managed to get of the moon about two weeks ago...they turned out pretty stellar!

Also, I wanted to try something new with my blog... I thought it would be neat to take pictures every full moon and blog them. Another idea that I had is, I will post a new healthy, organic recipe every month. I posted the raw strawberry bread pudding in August....so, stay tuned for Septembers recipe.

We were able to catch the moon at my house the night before we left for our vacation Up North and we got to see it the first night of our vacation on Lake Huron...what an awesome way to start of vacation!

You know how they say a full moon brings out the crazy in creatures?....Well, when my Michael showed up in the outfit, I think I know believe that's true!

Yes, my boyfriend is a dork....but, for some reason, it makes me love him all the more!
Ps: I will be posting my trip Up North soon!

TEA TIME!

Tea time with Brittney

Brittney Lynn has finally moved back to our hometown...I haven't seen her in over a year! We have been friends since the time we could walk; oh, how I missed her dearly :)

To bring back old memories, we decided to dress up and have a tea party....so much fun!

She is adorable, gosh did I miss her!

Beautiful selves on this vintage shirt.

 Just like the old days!

We had a blast together!
sunhat: From Tjmax, Calvin Klein
Wool dress: Vintage from Brittney's, boyfriend's, Mimi's (Marlene's) closet! (She had the best collection of vintage clothes!)
Cream cropped top with delicate selves: Mimi's closet again! :)
My white lace tights: Forever 21
My wool coat with fur collar: Vintage coat from my dear Granny.
Brittney's awesome patterned leggings: Thrift store
Black boots: Charlotte rouse
Gold/nude dress: slip for a gold floral dress
Brittney's vest: A gift from her friend :)

We had a ton of fun putting these outfits together, hoped it helped inspire you to mix and match some old pieces you may have hidden in the closet; or perhaps your Grandmother! :)

NORDHOUSE LAKE.....take me to the sea

Take me to the sea.....

Michael and I wanted to get away, create our own world....leave it all behind and follow the signs.

This song pretty much was how we felt......
Wonderful song, must check out!

We pulled out a map and picked a large area of woods where we could create our own escape.

The Manistee National Forest covers nearly one-quarter of Newaygo County. Its varying, yet largely sandy terrain is covered with trees, has numerous lakes, and reaches to the shores of Lake Michigan.

The Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness is a unique feature in the Manistee National Forest. Just 3,450 acres and situated on the east shore of Lake Michigan, it’s one of the few wilderness areas in the U.S. with an extensive lakeshore dunes ecosystem. Most of the dunes are 3,500 to 4,000 years old and some stand about 140 feet higher than Lake Michigan. The Nordhouse Dunes are interspersed with woody vegetation such as juniper, jack pine and hemlock. Many small water holes and marshes dot the landscape, and dune grass covers many of the dunes.

That sounded like a get a way to us! So, we packed our bags lightly and headed North.

Having good music is a must for a road trip! We gathered up the perfect music for our trip because, music is like a portal to dreamlands we believe.
Let the adventures begin!

We stumbled upon a farm market along the way, so we were able to get fresh food for our trip! :)

Getting closer :)

Now it's time to park and find a place of our own!

Then we found it.....Nordhouse Lake, a lake that was ours alone! We went swimming there and camped right on the edge of it....Nobody around, just us and nature at it's finest!

Absolutely breathtaking....the water felt amazing. I was lost in bliss.
Was given the best spot to camp...perfect for our hammock too!
Our new home for the weekend!
There was even tons of logs connecting to one another on the ground behind our tent....this made for the best natural jungle gym ever; so much fun!

If you are familiar with my youtube videos, you'd know that feathers are always marking something perfect for me.....I saw this feather and knew, this is where I am suppose to be.

We were surround by beautiful creatures all night long, literally feet away, circling us! :)
I swear we found the road to Zion...

Night brought a whole new life of energy....so amazing!

Our fruits that we picked up from the farm market were perfect.

Here are a couple videos we made on our trip:
